Anime Series Like Tokyo Revengers You Should Watch

Tokyo Revengers (Japanese: 東京卍リベンジャーズ[a], Hepburn: Tōkyō Ribenjāzu) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Ken Wakui. It has been serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine since March 2017. An anime television series adaptation by Liden Films aired from April to September 2021. A live-action film adaptation was released in Japan in July 2021. As of September 2021, the manga had over 40 million copies in circulation. The manga won the 44th Kodansha Manga Award for the shōnen category in 2020.

Tokyo Revengers season 1 officially ended on Sept 18. Let’s admit it that all the fans want Tokyo Revengers S2 as soon as possible. Many of the “anime only” fans have turned to manga, to know what happens after the cliffhanger. But, not all of us want to read the manga. An orphan boy named Atsushi is starving to death when he meets a really strange man, who is trying to drown himself. Atsushi saves the man and later finds out he was trying to end himself. This mysterious man is called Dazai, and he works for an agency that solves cases using supernatural talents. Atsushi ends up joining this agency.

It is a story of a high schooler named Natsuki Subaru, who suddenly finds himself transported into an unknown world. After a while, he is beaten up by some thugs, than a beautiful girl saves him. In order to thank her, Subaru decides to accompany her in finding her lost necklace. Things take a dark turn when both are murdered by a mysterious person.

However, Subaru awakens to a familiar scene of getting beat up by thugs. He realizes that he somehow travelled back to the past.

Re: Zero currently have 2 seasons with 25 episodes each.

Similarities: Both MC’s go back in time to save someone they love, lots of suffering for the main characters.

Rainbow

Rainbow will probably be the least popular anime on this list, but the story is similar to Tokyo Revengers, and the story is pretty good.

After World War II in Japan, which caused countless people to descend into poverty, six young men are captured for petty crimes and gets transported into disciplinary school. The facility is overseen by a sadistic guard and a perverted doctor who want to do all kinds of inappropriate deeds. Beside their cellmate, the young men will do all they can to survive this horror.

Rainbow currently have 1 season with 26 episodes, and is definitely worth checking out.

Similarities: Friendship bonds and fights. The only difference is that time travel doesn’t exist in this anime and the theme is darker than Tokyo Reveners.

If you like thriller anime like Tokyo Revengers, this is definitely a must watch series.
